  • I've made 10 of the shawls so far. The pattern is easy and the shawl is beautiful! All my friends demand that I make it for them for their birthdays. I can finish one in 2 evenings so it's been so much fun! I've even modified the pattern to make a small flowered one for my boyfriend's niece and she loves it!!! Connie
  • I am now making my 5th Celebrity Shawl, my daughter got the pattern for me. I realize you can be very versatile. I can make a shawl in ordinary supermarket double knit wool for less than £5.00 GBP and they still look lovely. - Paula T
  • I made the original version of the shawl for my 20 yr old daughter. I finished it just before going on 2 weeks holiday. See never took it off she loved it so much. Can't wait to try this new one with the edge work on it. Please, keep up the great work.

Customer Quotes:

  • Why "The Love Afghan" you ask? I made this for my husband. It will probably be the only thing that I've made him that he actually likes.

This pattern is all the rage at Yarntopia. We can't keep the hooks in stock! It is done in tunisian crochet. Don't let the crochet in the name scare you off knitters! The only crochet you need to know for this project is the chain stitch, and you only do that to cast on.

I throughly enjoyed doing this project. It was extremely simple and quick work as far as an afghan goes. The rhythm of the stitches is hypnotic. I also loved the creative side of working with all the different yarns. It felt almost like painting with fiber.

What our Customers have said:

  • "It's one of my most favorite things that I've ever crocheted!!"

  • "So I mentioned before that hairpin lace was fast, but did I mention that it is fast? ... Now, I'm not a crocheter at all.  At All.  Not that I don't know how, but I don't enjoy it per say.  But the awesome drape and fit of this garment was totally worth it.  And once you get the very entertaining technique of hairpin lace down, any knitter with a basic knowledge of crochet can tackle this project.."
  • "I made the lotus smock for a wedding I went to in Las Vegas.  I got tons of complements on it!"
