SDS-003 - Asymmetric Poncho Crochet Pattern

Exploring Tunisian Crochet:  Learn how to use this traditional technique in very untraditional ways. Using large hooks and modern yarns, create  fabrics that look woven instead of knit or crochet.  Tunisian crochet uses less yarn than standard crochet, and is considered by many to be a cross between knitting and crochet.  We will cover the basic stitches in Tunisian Crochet and view some FAST and EASY projects.  This technique was used in our Asymmetric Poncho Pattern, Outerwear Corset Pattern PillowTalk Exploration Collection and in our Decidedly Different Scarves.

Required Skills:  Understand basic crochet:  chain, sc (single crochet), dc (double crochet)

Required Materials:  Various hooks will be provided for your use during class by the instructor.  Please bring at least 3 coordinating bulky weight (any yarn  including ribbons  that yields gauge of 2.5 sts/inch or less), including a smooth, non-variegated bulky-weight yarn.  (Crochet hooks will be provided for your use in the class).

Mini Flower Workshop:  Receive hands-on instruction on how to do our Dusty Rose Crochet Flower pattern.  This simple crochet flower is a great project not only for crocheters, but for knitters who want to try their hands (and hooks!) at crochet in a fast, easy and approachable little project.
