Baroque Ladies Jacket Crochet Pattern

SDS-005
Crochet Jacket Pattern - Not a Finished Garment

This lacy crochet jacket exemplifies the feminine, romantic look so popular on the runways now. The jacket is designed to be form-fitting, worn over a simple dress, tank top or halter. A key to the design is an ornate fan-pattern stitch motif, which provides flaring at the sleeves and at the waist without the need to increase or decrease. The crochet jacket design also features accentuation of the waist with 2 luxurious silk ribbons, and the change in stitch direction at the lower rear lends a subtle bustle-like effect.

I've made this pattern twice now once in silk and once in baby yarn, both turned out wonderfully!!

I love this pattern, too! Hardest thing I've ever done, for sure, but it was totally worth it. My sweater is gorgeous - all my students are jealous and want to steal it!

I absolutely love this pattern - it's far easier than you'd think, given how complex it looks, but the stitch pattern is very simple, quick and easy to master. It turned out beautifully - I can't wait to make another using something a bit more luxurious such as silk. I've had tons of compliments on it - even if someone considers themselves as having just a "basic" knowledge of crochet, you can definitely do this!
